Lanternwood Tales
Lanternwood Tales is the game I recommend to people who say they do not like mobile games. It is a slow, hand-drawn adventure where you tap around beautiful scenes, talk to odd characters, and solve puzzles that make you feel smart without frustrating you.
There is no timer, no pressure, and no reflexes involved, which makes it perfect for winding down at night. The touch controls are forgiving; you tap a spot and the character walks there, and interactive objects gently highlight if you leave your finger down for a moment.
Because it is mostly still artwork, it barely touches the battery and stays completely cool. I finished several chapters on a single train ride without the charge dropping much at all. It is easily one of the most relaxing things I have played this year.
