Ironhold Command

Ironhold Command asks you to build up a fortress, manage resources, and fend off waves of attackers. What sets it apart is how readable everything stays on a small screen. You can pinch to zoom, drag to pan, and place buildings without the fiddly precision that ruins so many strategy games on phones.

The pacing is generous. You are not punished for putting the game down for a day, and the timers never felt like a wall. Combat plays out in real time but you can pause and reposition, which turns each defense into a little puzzle rather than a reflex test.

Performance was solid, though busy battles with lots of units caused a bit of slowdown on my older phone. Turning off the fancy particle effects in settings smoothed it right out and helped the battery last longer during a long strategy session.
